VIP Coatings is proud of the successful collaboration with Intexcons, providing our VIPShield coating solution to repair the roofs of the Marina (10,000 m²) & Waterfront (15,000 m²) on Phú Quốc Island in Vietnam, covering a total area of 25,000 m². Our team conducted thorough surveys and identified several challenges:  Exposed application during rainy periods, significantly impacting the schedule. – Pervasive leaks in most roofs due to the use of inappropriate waterproofing systems. – Inadequately treated expansion and thermal joints in the concrete.  The traditional roof design included multiple layers (waterproofing, mortar protection, concrete topping, and tiling) making it difficult to pinpoint the source of leaks.

Dismantling protective mortar layers and tiles was not feasible, as it would disrupt business operations and cause further delays. Despite these challenges, VIP Coatings provided the VIPShield system for the roof repairs. In collaboration with our certified applicator, Intexcons, we ensured excellent application performance:  The concrete was sanded and cleaned to remove any residue that could affect adhesion.  The tile surface was abraded and thoroughly cleaned to eliminate any residue that might impact adhesion.  QuickPrime Epoxy 2K SF ME was applied as a primer before spraying. – Polyurea QuickSeal PP350 Grey was applied with a layer thickness of 1.5 mm using the Graco XP-2 high-pressure sprayer. The entire 25,000 m² across both projects was successfully completed, despite the challenging site and weather conditions.
