Sheik Zayed Bridge

Sheik Zayed Bridge is an arch bridge in Abu Dhabi, Named after the country’s principal architect

Sheik Zayed Bridge is an arch bridge in Abu Dhabi, named after the country’s principal architect and former president HE Sheik Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The 842 meter long bridge is said to be the most intricate bridge ever constructed. Its curved design arches evoke undulating sanddunes in the desert. It was built at a cost of $300 million. The project had concrete areas which would be half smudged in sea water and needed a coating system to protect the concrete. Fameco technical department proposed the QuickSpray Eco (aromatic), the 2-part hybrid-system derived from a reaction of an Isocyanate and a modified Polyurea/Polyurethane resin blend.
Processing took place in 3 steps:
1. Application of QuickFill.
2. Application of QuickPrime.
3. The aromatic Polyurea QuickSpray applied with High Pressure Spray units.

The Polyurea System was approved by leading consultants and applied successfully on this prestigious project. The complete process of surface-preparation and application of base coat was successfully completed in 10 days.
